Matt 21:1-22

A rich passage, this is the first of the passion week. There's more here than I can cover, so I'll hit about 3 highlights.

Vs 1-7 At Bethphage something prophetic is fulfilled (a colt on which nobody has ever ridden) The thing I didn't recall is, they take both the donkey and its child. MUST REVIEW the source of verse 5

Vs 8-11 So people at large recognize Jesus for/by His prophetic precedence. They start acting out things they have read in the Bible. Its like a reverse Newspaper I though as I read it. See normally something happens and the next day we read about it in the paper. These people heard it (written communication was very expensive) in the synagogue and now they acted out what they knew about. The MDB points out that Hosanna is a transliteration, and that the date of the events is specified in/by Daniel 9:24-26.

Vs 12-17 Jesus cleanses the temple. (2nd time in the 3 years) Some priests and scribes object to the crowd, but the Lord says its more than ok. And having made a big scene they take off until tomorrow.

Vs 18-22 Jesus is God. If he gets upset at a plant, its bad trouble for the plant. The disciples aren't exhibiting faith, so Jesus instructs a little more about it. (Like I could do any better than guys)
